Cain's world: Iran as a two-for-one special with Iraq?

From The Jerusalem Post
Paradoxically, regime change in Iraq could accomplish what years of haphazard American policy could not the end of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. It should be a tantalizing possibility for an administration that, in the words of its National Security Strategy, is committed to creating "a balance of power that favors human freedom."
If they house of Saud isn't shipping treasures to Biaritz, they might breathe deep and catch a clue, too...

Now that's a glass ceiling...

From The Jerusalem Post:
An Islamic fundamentalist group has threatened to kill Muslim women in a northern Indian state if they don't give up their jobs, a newspaper reported Tuesday.

[....]

Two weeks ago, the Islamic fundamentalist group Al-Badr warned women they had until Jan. 15 to quit police jobs, and said girls and women should not go to school.
Plus which, women can't play golf at Augusta National which is just exactly the same thing, only worse!

Why are Feminists AWOL on Islam...?

My friend Mike Arst pointed me to this City Journal article by Kay S. Hymowitz. The piece purports to tell us why Feminism is AWOL on Islam:
As you look at this inventory of brutality, the question bears repeating: Where are the demonstrations, the articles, the petitions, the resolutions, the vindications of the rights of Islamic women by American feminists? The weird fact is that, even after the excesses of the Taliban did more to forge an American consensus about women?s rights than 30 years of speeches by Gloria Steinem, feminists refused to touch this subject. They have averted their eyes from the harsh, blatant oppression of millions of women, even while they have continued to stare into the Western patriarchal abyss, indignant over female executives who cannot join an exclusive golf club and college women who do not have their own lacrosse teams.
Hymowitz has an answer, but it amounts to an apologetic: Feminism has lost its way.

It hasn't. The capital-F Feminist Movement has always been the Ladies Auxilliary of the Communist Movement. When capital-F Feminists are silent about some issue, it means their Communist handlers believe that silence works to their advantage. The same is true for the Civil Rights Movement, which is utterly silent on black-on-black atrocities here and in Africa. It is gratifying, for once, to hear the word Communist associated with a 'popular mass movement,' as was done this weekend with respect to the 'anti-war protests.' Since the Hyamarket Riots, at least, all American 'popular mass movements' have been largely-unwitting fronts for the Communist Movement.

It is simply wrong to say that Feminism has lost its way. Feminism is doing exactly what it is supposed to do: Undermining Western liberty. The political genius of the Communists is their deft ability to identify and exploit logical contradictions in Western social structures. In effect, the West is taken to account because it has not fully renounced the brutalities and inanities of its Eastern origins. Why in reason should skin color matter? There is no answer in reason. Why in reason should people be granted or denied opportunities according to their sex organs? There is no answer in reason. That the injustices occasioned by these vestigial Eastern contradictions are minute is irrelevant. The power of political leverage--a leverage only made possible by uncontradicted Western ingenuity--makes them seem enormous. Far from being concerned with the welfare of women, Feminism, the Ladies Auxilliary of the Communist Movement, will take us from the 'injustice' of private all-male golf clubs to the perfect socialist utopia of universal slavery and forced abortion.

Feminism is silent on Islam for the simple reason that opposing Islam does nothing to advance Communism's goals, but opposing the forthcoming anti-Islamic war does...
